ANNUAL REPORT 2018 – 2019

CEO & Chair’s Message

A brave new world

The last year has been an unprecedented period of growth and change for SuperFriend, driven by our new Partner-informed strategy. In parallel, we have also watched our Partners evolve following a long period of scrutiny and regulatory change. These shifts mean we are now facing into a time of unique opportunity to improve the mental health and wellbeing of working Australians.

On 1 July 2019 our new 2021 Strategy commenced, cementing our vision for all Australian workplaces to be mentally healthy. We are now positioned to be far more responsive to the current and emerging needs of our Partners, and to work with them to co-create innovative solutions in an agile, customer-driven way.

How did our programs fare with participants?

“Unexpected and excellent presentation – I will include mental health as well as physical and financial health, in my retirement plans.”

“I was impressed that [my superannuation fund] addressed the effect of mental health in retirement in their presentation. The SuperFriend speaker was able to provide a very informative and lively session.”

“I think this presentation was very valuable, it is important to deal with the mental part of retirement, even more than the monetary part. I believe this is a great idea and could be at all retirement seminars. Thank you for an excellent presentation.”

“The booklet is very good and I have been passing on my copy to friends and family.”

“Really enjoyed this session as it is not covered enough in the workplace.”

“The session was great and one that everyone would benefit from attending. There was no criticism of how and what information was delivered. It was also great that the session was interactive providing the opportunity to listen to others.”

Training for Contact Centre Workers

“Now I know how to deal with a suicide call.”

“I am a consultant in the insurance and claims team. I deal with people experiencing mental health issues daily, and the workshop today really helped in understanding and dealing with some of those issues really well, especially paraphrasing.”

“Really informative session which has given me confidence to speak up when something is not OK.”

For Insurance claims workers…

“Great workshop, facilitator was able to adapt and provided great examples that were relevant to the audience.”

“This was one of the most valuable training sessions I have done. It helped me understand mental health issues, in particular managing stress levels.”

“Excellent session and content is so relevant both to work and personal life.”

For Insurance claims assessors and supervisors…

“I really appreciate qualified psychologists delivering the course. Thank you so much.”

“Fantastic session. Really enjoyed every second of it and time flew by. Would love to engage you for ongoing training for our team.”

For Financial Planners…

“Very informative. Facilitated well by the facilitator. Definitely feel more equipped moving forward.”

Our Partners
